Nature Needs to be a Priority for the 44th Parliament

Every Member of Parliament has an important role to play in making sure Canada takes action to address the dual climate and biodiversity crises. You can help ensure that protecting nature is a top priority by writing to the Prime Minister and your MP now!

Biodiversity is collapsing and climate change is wreaking havoc across Canada and the rest of the world. As we work to leave the COVID-19 pandemic behind, we are in desperate need of a green and just recovery that has nature at its heart. Nature has proven to be essential to our mental and physical well-being, and protecting it can also help Canada’s economy recover.

Our Roadmap to 2030 makes it clear that the federal, provincial, and territorial governments must all work together to meet Canada’s commitments, and that action is urgently needed to protect at least 30% of the country’s land and ocean by 2030, with a milestone goal of protecting 25% by 2025. This is where you come in.

Please let the Prime Minister and your Member of Parliament know that you care deeply about the planet, and want decisive and deliberate action now to ensure Canada meets its nature protection targets. Urgent action starts with you and your letter.

Your letter will be sent to the Prime Minister with your Member of Parliament copied. We encourage you to personalize your letter to reflect why you care about nature and want urgent action to protect it.
