Tell the Nova Scotia government to protect 15,000 hectares of the Ingram River area

The Ingram River watershed needs your help! This stunning wilderness located near St. Margaret’s Bay contains old forest, an important network of lakes and rivers, and habitat for species-at-risk. It’s a well-loved spot for recreation and a key connector piece in the Halifax Greenbelt for wildlife on the move.

After years of campaigning by the local community to protect this very special place, the Nova Scotia government agreed in June to protect 4,000 hectares of public land, yet the total area that needs protection is about 15,000 hectares.

A public consultation is currently underway. It is really important that the government hears from people who care about protecting these lands. Please take a few moments to lend your support for protecting the entire Ingram River area.

The most impactful letters are short and personal. If you have been to the Ingram River watershed, or simply feel a connection to nature, include that in your letter. If you are concerned about the loss of biodiversity and that not enough of Nova Scotia is protected, please mention that too.

You can write your letter in the textbox below, or you can send your own email to [email protected]

Thank you for helping out.
