Help Protect The Hudson Bay Lowlands
The Hudson Bay Lowlands is one of the largest intact wetland and peatland ecosystems on Earth, vital for sustaining wildlife, stabilizing the climate, and supporting Indigenous ways of life. Five Northern Cree Nations—York Factory First Nation, Tataskweyak Cree Nation, Fox Lake Cree Nation, Shamattawa First Nation, and War Lake First Nation—have reunited to protect their ancestral lands through the Kitaskeenan Kaweekanawaynitamuk initiative, meaning "Our Land We Want to Take Care Of."
This Indigenous-led effort will help safeguard polar bears, caribou, critical carbon stores, and the deep cultural connections that have flourished here for generations.
Join us in protecting these sacred lands for people and for the wildlife that call them home.
