Manitoba has less than five years to meet its conservation targets and a history of not adequately investing in protecting nature. Budgets 2024, and 2025 did not have appropriate funding for conservation. Budget 2026 needs to prioritize nature conservation. We urge all Manitobans to tell the Minister of Finance that the conservation of our lands and waters must be a top priority. Send a letter directly to the Minister of Finance to make your voice heard. By adding your information at the bottom, it will be added to the sample letter directly below. Honouranle Wab Kinew Government of Manitoba Honourable Adrien Sala Manitoba Government Dear Minister of Finance, As a Manitoban who values our province’s natural beauty, I urge you to prioritize the conservation of Manitoba’s lands and waters in Budget 2026. The government’s commitment to protecting 30% of our lands and waters by 2030 is essential for combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and supporting the well-being of future generations Investing in conservation efforts not only protects our environment but also strengthens our economy through sustainable tourism, job creation, and enhanced resilience to climate-related challenges. Now is the time to act decisively to protect what makes Manitoba extraordinary. Achieving 30x30 requires a historic level of investment in conservation, far above what’s been allocated in past budgets. Please ensure Budget 2026 provides the financial resources required to fully undertake this ambitious and much needed initiative. {user_data~Share your voice} Kind Regards, {user_data~First Name}{user_data~Last Name} {user_data~Postal Code} cc: Minister of Environment and Climate Change (Manitoba) Premier of Manitoba Minister of Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures Chief of Staff at Ministry of Business, Mining, Trade, and Job Creation Chief of Staff to the Premier Minister of Justice and Attorney General Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs My MLA First Name Last Name Email Postal Code Subscribe to our newsletter TAKE ACTION
