Nature needs more
Did you know biodiversity in BC higher than anywhere else in Canada? Caring for lands and waters ensures fish and animals have the healthy habitat they need to survive. Nature also provides us with clean drinking water and food to sustain healthy communities. That’s why the BC government has committed to protecting 30% of lands and waters by 2030 and advancing Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs).
We can’t miss this opportunity to turn BC’s nature commitments into action.
Nature needs more.
Nature based solutions help to slow and reverse the mass extinction of species. Adequate resources will help protect habitat of species at risk, keep old growth forests standing, support Indigenous land stewards. Together, let’s call for the funding and policy changes to back-up BC’s commitment to protect 30% of lands and waters by 2030. This pathway to protecting 30% must include the most endangered ecosystems, carbon sinks and healthy intact watersheds before they’re gone.
