Help permanently protect the Seal River Watershed!

The Seal River Watershed is one of the last great intact natural places left in the world. It’s home to vibrant cultures and thriving wildlife, and it’s free from industrial development.

Four First Nations are leading the effort to protect the entire watershed as an Indigenous Protected Area, supported by CPAWS and many others. A feasibility study has been completed, and the Nations are in negotiations with Manitoba and Canada. We’re closer than ever, but we need to keep the momentum going.

Send your letter with this simple form and let Premier Kinew know that Manitobans support Indigenous-led conservation and want to see the Seal River Watershed permanently protected.

You may edit the letter by clicking on the box above. To maximize its impact, your letter will also be sent to your MLA and relevant cabinet members.

To the members of the Seal River Watershed Alliance, Premier Wab Kinew and Prime Minister Mark Carney:

I am writing to thank you for your efforts to conserve the Seal River Watershed in northern Manitoba.

Preserving these pristine lands and waters is a gift to humanity.

There are few places left on the planet where nature has been allowed to freely flourish at such a colossal scale.

I’m counting on the governments of Manitoba and Canada to continue working with the Alliance and to ensure the entire Seal River Watershed is permanently protected for future generations of people and wildlife.
